During installation, Ubuntu now asks you if you want to encrypt your /home/user_name folder
eCryptfs mounts the users encrypted home directory during login
To encrypt your home directory or "Private" folder, a strong passphrase is automatically generated during install. Usually your directory is unlocked with your user password, but if you ever need to manually recover this directory, you will need this passphrase. Print or write it down and store it in a safe location. Run "ecryptfs-unwrap-passphrase" from the command line to retrieve your generated passphrase. Enter your login password at the "Passphrase" prompt and you can display your "Private" folder passphrase.
